Encountering God
Part of our Vision is to Encounter God. To help facilitate that, we are holding an Evening of Prayer every Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 pm. Do you have mountains of loneliness, sickness, or fear; coping methods that just aren’t cutting it anymore? Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see those mountains move per Jesus’ words: “For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
Building Community
- Tuesdays in April: Join Pastor Paul and Shari, as well as others from our community, as we continue watching and discussing the TV show, “The Chosen.” In the second season, Director Dallas Jenkins delves deeper into the accounts written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John about the life of Jesus and his disciples, and how the disciples discovered what Jesus meant when He said, “Come, follow me” and, “The Kingdom of God has arrived.” We will be introduced to the second half of the twelve apostles, as well as more of the women who followed Jesus. Using “creative license,” we learn Jenkin’s creative backstories for the disciples: who they are, where they came from, and – most importantly – their personal experiences and reasons for being called by Jesus to follow Him. Join Pastor Paul and Shari as we discuss these things and more every Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00pm at their home in Blackfoot. Contact Pastor Paul for directions.
- Sunday (after our our worship gathering), April 13, join us for a “Palm Sunday Potluck”: The church will provide the traditional ham, as well as drinks. You’re invited to bring whatever traditional food you think will be enjoyed by all. However, to avoid having 10 plates of deviled eggs (a favorite of many, I’m told), please sign up in the sanctuary prior to the event, or email what you’re bringing (info@harvestfoursquare.org). This is going to be a fun time of building community and simply being together as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection.
- Friday, April 18 at 6:30pm, join us for a Good Friday Service: We will be remembering what Jesus said and did on this important day. Going along with Pastor Paul’s theme for Easter this year, he’ll be sharing how Jesus Chose the Cross, and what that means for us. Which, of course, leads to…
- Sunday, April 20 at 10:30am, Easter Morning Worship: Pastor Paul will finish out our series on “He Chose” to explain why Jesus’ choosing to be resurrected was a world-changing event, and what that can mean for anyone who puts their faith in that resurrected and alive Jesus. Bring friends who don’t have a church home, and join us for this important gathering to worship, celebrate, and discover the resurrected and living Jesus!
- Friday, May 9 at 6:00 – Middle School Nerf Wars: Tell your middle schooler to grab their Nerf gun (or they can borrow one of ours) and join us for this fun time at the church. Joining us will be the middle schoolers from Blackfoot Christian Fellowship, along with some of their youth staff. There will be contests and prizes, along with time just to see how many times we can hit each other with darts. There’s no cost, so invite your friends to join us as we play, eat, and maybe even learn a little bit about Jesus.
